Sunday 12th September 2010
The event is open to paddlers throughout the region and beyond, and will give the Club an opportunity to shine out amongst the rest of the canoeing community.
To ensure that this event is a success we need to provide sufficient numbers to manage the race. We would really like to get between 15 and 20 people to make the organisation easy. This would be a great opportunity to see how a ranked marathon is organised first hand, but also a way to support the club in increasing its awareness.
Feel free to send this through to family and friends who would be willing to volunteer. We will of course be providing food and refreshments for all volunteers. If you are interested then please either speak to Chris Carter whilst at the club, or e-mail Chairman Andrew.

Numbers
Upright number plates will be required for all ranking classes. They are preferred for other classes, where boats are numbered the number must be clearly visible from the left hand bank.
BCU Membership
Is required for all competitors except juniors ranked in Divisions 7, 8 and 9 who are members of clubs with a registered junior section. Those unable to prove BCU membership on the day will have to pay an event fee (£2.50).
General Conduct
The course uses the Grand Union Canal and has it’s fair share of Sunday walkers and anglers, while other clubs use the Nash Mills Recreation Centre. Please respect them when portaging and changing etc. as we want to have good relations with our neighbours and landlord.

Please be discreet when changing!HHCC and helpers will endeavour to run a safe and enjoyable race, however we can not be held responsible for any loss of life, limb or equipment, or anything stupid that you may do.
